FRAME & SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION:
FRAME 2X6 tubular steel. Welded battery rack on tongue with a steel tube 4”x 4” rear bumper and standard safety chains. Rear skid bars will be in place as is a manual tongue jack and (4) mounting points for optional stabilizer jacks
SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION
Standard 2x2 RV construction. Lined with 5/32 plywood paneling for high strength and lightweight. ABS fenders with galvanized wheel pans. Hand cut fiberglass insulation in sidewalls.
EXTERIOR: The exterior of the Safety House is white fiberglass. This is material commonly used in the RV industry. Fiberglass offers a more durable exterior and requires less maintenance then aluminum Std RV grab handle shall be in place at entrance doors. An awning rail will be on the curb side
AXLES AND BRAKES: Unit shall have tandem 4" straight axles 3,500# each with equalizing suspension. 4 wheel electric brakes will be utilized mfg.
A brake away switch will be attached to the frame as an emergency stop, in the unlikely event of unit separation.
TIRES AND WHEELS: ST205x75R15 trailer tires on painted mod 5 lug wheels with center caps and lug nut covers
ROOF A one piece rubber roof will be provided over 7/16 OSB material.
A tapered 2x6 roof truss system provides a crown to the roof reduce puddling. This roof truss system will allow space for the air conditioning ducting. 4 roof vents are in place. The roof will be insulated with hand cut fiberglass insulation
FLOOR: The floor is constructed of 5/8" Huber Industrial Panel on 2x3 floor joist 16” on center support members 16" on center. flooring has a limited “5” year warranty. This material is used in many cargo high-line trailers. There is no insulation.
A belly wrap will be provided to seal off moisture during transport
LIGHTS-INTERIOR: 12 Volt RV dome lights will be provided on the ceiling and under the kitchen cabinets
LIGHTS -EXTERIOR: A 12 volt porch light is provided with a switch on the light. Standard RV ICC lights are in place as required.
WINDOWS All windows are heat-treated safety glass with screen. A control room window will be provided. A 40"x45 square corner sliding bedroom escape window will be included. Valances for windows except the control room. All windows will be square RV slider windows.
DOORS
The door (or doors with the bedroom door option selected) will be square RV doors with screen door and flush door handle and locks (including dead bolt)
BLEACHER SEATING Bleacher seating is provided. 4 rows of bleachers will accommodate up to 15 to 20 students
A large storage area is provided under the bleacher seats
FIREPLACE An electric fireplace will be located in the kitchen/learning room. It will have a screen and simulated brick face, an on/off switch will be wall mounted next to the fireplace.
KITCHEN: The kitchen shall be equipped with a non-functional 2 burner drop in stove top (A stove with oven, Safety Stove and Safety Pot are optional upgrades)
A small RV sink will be in place A functional microwave oven will be available to set on the counter top. Cabinets doors will be router cut.
HANDICAP RAMP STORAGE
A handicap storage compartment is provided. The ramp itself is an option
CONTROL ROOM
A control room will be provided allowing control of many educational functions. A 911 phone system for 911 training. On/off switch for 110 volt smoke alarms. An on/off switch for bedroom electrically heated door shall be in the control room. ABS smoke ducting system (schedule 40) with control valves allowing room selection as well as an operating location and outlet for water base smoke machine included. The control room will have a 48" counter with storage cabinets and a 48"x12"x5" cushion on a bench for control room operator comfort. A window with screen will be in place
COOLING, HEATING AND VENTILATION
Ducting and pre-wire for future air conditioning will be provided. You will be able to add a 13,500 BTU or the largest available 15,000 BTU air conditioning unit. The optional air conditioning can be installed at the time of construction
Heat will be provided by (2) electric ceiling heaters rated at 4,400 BTU each
(2) power roof vents and (1) non powered where the air conditioning can be installed, (1) power roof vent in the bleacher area and (1) in the rear of the bedroom in each room shall be installed to aid in removing non toxic smoke as well as help hold the smoke to the ceiling during training.
BEDROOM
The bedroom shall be on the main level. It will be fully carpeted with rebond pad, curtains and valances on side windows. A bed with mattress, bedspread and pillow sham. Two carpeted benches, and 1 exhaust fan shall be roof mounted with a wall switch for on/off control allowing the instructor to monitor smoke removal.
A sliding window in the rear of the unit will allow access to the chain escape ladder.
A Heated Door will be in place. The Hot Door Knob is a popular option.
GENERATOR COMPARTMENT
A lighted generator storage compartment is an on the road side of the unit. This compartment door is equipped with a lock
OUTSIDE TV CABINET OPTION
There is an (OPTIONAL)outside TV cabinet located next to the control room. This compartment will accommodate a 20 “ TV and a VCR/DVD and includes outlets for equipment power
ELECTRICAL-110 VOLT
A standard RV 25' single 30 amp power supply cord shall be provided for 110 volt AC power into the unit. All wall receptacles are functional. Ground fault receptacles are in the kitchen as well as (1) outside outlets. Power is supplied through circuit breakers in a power distribution panel All outlets will be functional
ELECTRICAL-12 VOLT
12-volt power for the unit is provided by a 55 amp solid state power converter. The converter will supply all 12-volt needs of the unit when plugged in. The unit will have a deep cycle battery and box to supply 12 volt power on short term when not plugged in.
BACK UP BEEPER This will emit an audible tone when the tow vehicle is placed in reverse. This is a pedestrian warning devise. (The tow vehicle must be properly wired for this feature to work)
911 PHONE WITH CALL BACK FEATURE
A wall phone will be located in the living room allowing a child to experience dialing 911 or any number and reaching (control room) a fire fighter or dispatcher. The system has a telephone in the control room An external phone jack will be located on the door side of the unit, allowing 911 training from outside the unit or to demonstrate the need to exit the home in a fire situation and call from a neighbor.
HITCH JACK
A manual tongue jack will be in place. A power tongue jack is a popular option
STABILIZER JACK: Dedicated mounting points will be provided for crank down stabilizer jacks on (4) locations. Jacks can be installed later
REAR LADDER: A commercially available chain escape ladder shall be bolted securely at the rear of the trailer used to demonstrate escape from a window. This same type ladder is available throughout the country. Grab handles will also be provided inside and out for safety.
