The exterior of the Safety House is white in color and is a heavy .024 aluminum mesa

This offers a superior surface for adhesion for graphics and lettering as well as

being maintenance free.

standard springs. 4 wheel electric brakes will be utilized Mfg. Hays or equal. type

10' x 2 1/4". A brake away switch will be attached to the frame as an emergency stop, in the unlikely event of a unit separation.

TIRES AND WHEELS

Tires will be steel belted radials P225/75R15, 8 ply rating. The tires are mfg. for trailers, offering special side wall construction to reduce sway while towing. The tires will be mounted on white sport mod wheels, with center caps and lug nut covers.

ROOF:

A one piece aluminum roof over 2x4 rafters, with a limited 10 year warranty.

FLOOR:  The floor is constructed of 5/8" HIP® “Huber Industrial Panel” on  2x4 floor joist 16” on center support members 16" on center. HIPh® flooring has a limited “5” year warranty.  This material is used in many high-line cargo trailers.

Floor joist are 2x4 on 12" center rather than the typical 2x3 and 16' on center.

This construction technique offers a strong floor. The floor is constructed of 5/8" tongue and groove exterior plywood. The floor covering will be carpet with 1/2" thick pad. Vinyl hard goods will be in the basement storage area as well as the generator storage compartment.

The floor will be fully insulated and the under belly will be covered with a heavy duty vinyl

weather seal.

LIGHTS INTERIOR:

12 VOLT FLUORESCENT LIGHTS ARE NOW STANDARD INTERIOR LIGHTS

 

LIGHTS EXTERIOR:

3 12 volt porch lights shall be in place. 2 on the door side and one on the rear. Standard ICC lights will be in place. 2 hook up lights will be attached to the power tongue jack.

A 12 volt power source with a on/off switch, will be pre wired from the control room to the rear roof top for a strobe light.

WINDOWS:

All exterior windows are heat treated safety glass. The escape training windows located in each bedroom shall be 40 x 45 sliders. The balance of the windows are standard RV type with screens. A 3' X 3' picture window shall be in place in the control room, with screen and mini blind. Valances and curtains are in place with the exception of on the escape sliders.

The control room shall have 2 observation ports with Plexiglas windows and hinged privacy doors.

FIREPLACE:

A electric fireplace shall be located in the kitchen for safety training. It will have a screen, simulated brick face wooden mantel and a simulated stone hearth. A on/off switch shall be located on the wall next to the fireplace. The fireplace shall have a crackle sound.

KITCHEN:

The kitchen shall have a functional stove, stainless steel sink, exhaust hood with light and microwave. The stove shall have a shut off in the gas supply line. Fresh water is provided to the

sink through a city water hook up on the outside of the unit. A space and outlet for a refrigerator shall be provided. A wall mounted 911 training phone will be located in the kitchen as well as a fireplace.

CONTROL ROOM:

A control room will be provided allowing control of many educational functions. A  911 telephone system will be in place, as well as control switches for smoke alarms.

On/off switches for electric hot doors. controls of smoke generator and smoke routing

valves, as well as a smoke ready light from bedroom #2 shall be installed. The control room

will provide a location for instillation of optional TV camera equipment as pa. equipment.

The 110 volt circuit breakers, and power converter shall be in the control room. A master switch will control interior lights. A picture window with screen and mini blind will be

included to provide increased comfort for control room personnel.

BEDROOM #1:

Bedroom #1 will be located in the front of the unit on the main level offering full education

capability for handicap and wheel chair bound individuals. A 36" entrance door will be in place,

as well as a bed, a location to install a optional lower level hot door, and a sliding escape window.

The escape window will be equipped with a semi motionless chain escape ladder allowing for

egress training with commercially available equipment. Simulated smoke can

be provided to the room as well as a exhaust fan to remove smoke. The fan on/off switch shall be in

the room and can be controlled directly by the instructor.

BEDROOM#2:

Bedroom #2 shall be slightly elevated in the rear of the unit. 3 steps will lead to bedroom#2

which will have a 6'1" ceiling height. A electric hot door will be installed as well as a bed, smoke ducting, 110 volt smoke alarm and dual exhaust fans. Fan control and smoke alarm control will be from the bedroom by the instructor. Installation of these controls in the bed room allows for a faster cycle of students by maximizing the use of time. A sliding escape

GENERATOR STORAGE COMPARTMENT:

A generator storage compartment shall be provided on the off door side of the unit.

The compartment shall have lights and be constructed in a way that allows no lift unloading of the generator. There will be locks on the compartment allowing secure storage.

WHEEL CHAIR RAMP STORAGE:

A wheel chair ramp storage compartment will be located on the off door side of the unit. The compartment will be equipped with locks for secure storage.

OUTSIDE STORAGE:

Outside storage will be accessible from the off door side and the curb side of the unit. A light will be located in the compartment. The doors will be equipped with locks.

110 VOLT POWER;

110 volt power will be provided through a standard 30 amp RV plug on a 25' cord

circuit breakers are provided in the distribution panel located in the control room. All wall outlets are 110 volt with ground fault protection near the sink and for outside outlets.

12 VOLT POWER

12 volt power will be provided by a frame mounted deep cycle (Interstate Battery) or through a 50 amp DC Magnetek power converter. This unit will handle all of the 12 volt power demand by converting 110 volt AC power to 12 volt DC power. The power converter has a built in, self regulating, battery charger. This charger will maintain a full operational charge of the frame mounted battery automatically.

HEATING AND COOLING:

Heat is provided by a forced air furnace rated at 35,000 btu. Heat will be distributed evenly through

out the unit by use of heat ducts. A centrally located thermostat will allow consistent temperatures to be maintained. The unit will be prewired for air conditioning.

A 911 training phone shall be in place, The system shall allow hands on training in the proper use

of the 911 system. The student will be able to talk with the unseen control room operator.

Also the system shall have the ability for call back from control room to student. A outside

telephone jack will be installed on the door side of the unit. This phone jack will allow neighbors

An audible tone will be heard at the rear of the safety house warning any one in the area that the unit is moving in reverse. (The tow vehicle must be properly wired to activate this alarm)

HEATING AND COOLING:

FRAME CONSTRUCTION

Frame 2x8 high strength (Bull Moose)® double tube steel rails. Welded battery rack on tongue with 4x4 steel rear bumper and rear skid bars for add'l protection. 4 crank down stabilizer jacks will be mounted to the frame. A power tongue jack will be provided. Safety chains and rear skid bars are in place.

SIDEWALL CONSTRUCTION

2x3 members 16" on center. Studs are bonded to 5/32 plywood paneling for high strength and lightweight. ABS fenders with galvanized wheel pans. Hand cut fiberglass insulation in sidewalls with an R 7 rating.

EXTERIOR

The exterior of the house is white standard house vinyl siding with simulated cedar shake siding at upper areas of front and sides. Shutters are provided for all windows. A Lend-A-Hand folding assist grab handle shall be in place at the entrance door.

AXLES AND BRAKES: Unit shall have tandem axles 5,200# each with equalized suspension. The axles are "RUBBER TORSION" construction eliminating the risk of broken springs and worn parts to replace. This suspension offers a superior ride and reduced maintenance. 4 wheel 12 " electric brakes will be utilized mfg by Hayes or equal. The axles have EZ Lube hubs that do not require disassembly to grease the bearings. A brake away switch will be attached to the frame as an emergency stop, in the unlikely event of unit separation.

TIRES AND WHEELS

ST225/75/R15 trailer tires on heavy duty styled white 6 lug wheels and center caps.

ROOF: A 1-piece TPO (Thermal Poly Olyhan) roof is provided bonded to 7/16 OSB underlayment. Tapered 2x6 roof trusses provide a crown to the roof eliminating puddling. 4 roof vents are in place. Commercial simulated cedar shakes are on the mansard roof

BENCH SEATING: All bench seats are to be covered with carpet and inside storage.

HEAD BUMP PADS:

Head bump pads shall be in place on all outside doors and escape training windows

LIGHTS INTERIOR:

12 volt lights in the ceiling shall be fluorescent (except control room) and connected to wall switches. 12 volt dome lights shall be used in storage compartments and under cabinets as needed. Wall lights shall be located at the fireplace (except with Severe Weather option)

LIGHTS EXTERIOR: 3 -12 volt porch lights shall be in place. 2 on the door side and one on the rear. LED ICC lights will be in place. They have proven to be maintenance free and are rated for 200,000 hr. life. An upper body Brake Light and turn signals shall be in place. A hook up light will be attached to the power tongue jack. A 12 volt power source with a on/off switch, will be pre wired from the control room to the rear roof top for a strobe light.

WINDOWS:

All exterior windows are heat treated safety glass. The escape training windows located in each bedroom shall be 40 x 45 sliders. The balance of the windows are vinyl residential type with screens. A 3' X 3' picture window shall be in place in the control room, with screen and mini blind. Valances and curtains are in place with the exception of on the escape sliders. The control room shall have 2 observation ports with Plexiglas windows and sliding privacy doors.

FIREPLACE:

A electric fireplace shall be located in the kitchen for safety training. It will have a screen, simulated brick face wooden mantel and a simulated stone hearth. A on/off switch shall be located on the wall next to the fireplace. The fireplace shall have a crackle sound.

KITCHEN:

The kitchen shall have a functional stove, stainless steel sink, exhaust hood with light and microwave. The stove shall have a shut off in the gas supply line. Fresh water is provided to the sink through a city water hook up on the outside of the unit.

A space and outlet for a refrigerator shall be provided. A wall mounted 911 training phone will be located in the kitchen as well as a fireplace.

CONTROL ROOM:

A control room will be provided allowing control of many educational functions.

A hands free 911 telephone system will be in place, as well as control switches for smoke alarms. On/off switches for electric hot doors, controls of smoke generator and smoke routing valves, as well as a smoke ready light from bedroom #2 shall be installed. The control room will provide a location for installation of optional TV camera equipment or PA equipment. The 110 volt circuit breakers, and power converter shall be in the control room. A master switch will control interior lights. A picture window with screen and mini blind will be included to provide increased comfort for control room personnel.

BEDROOM #1:

Bedroom #1 will be located in the front of the unit on the main level offering full education capability for handicap and wheel chair bound individuals. A 36" entrance door will be in place, as well as a bed, a location to install an optional lower level heated door, and a sliding escape window. The escape window will be equipped with a semi motionless chain escape ladder allowing for egress training with commercially available equipment. Simulated smoke can be provided to the room as well as an exhaust fan to remove smoke. The fan on/off switch shall be in the room and can be controlled directly by the instructor. A heated door, a smoking door and a Hot Knob are options for this room

BEDROOM #2:

Bedroom #2 shall be slightly elevated in the rear of the unit. 3 steps will lead to bedroom#2 which will have a 6'1" ceiling height. An electric heated door will be installed as well as a bed, smoke ducting, 110 volt smoke alarm and dual exhaust fans. Fan control and smoke alarm control will be from the bedroom by the instructor. Installation of these controls in the bedroom allows for a faster cycle of students by maximizing the use of time. A sliding escape window will be in place as well as a semi motionless chain ladder allowing egress training with commercially available equipment.

GENERATOR STORAGE COMPARTMENT A generator storage compartment shall be provided on the off door side of the unit. The compartment shall have lights and be constructed in a way that allows no lift unloading of the generator. There will be locks on the compartment allowing secure storage and protection from the weather.

WHEEL CHAIR RAMP & STORAGE:

A telescoping aluminum wheel chair ramp & storage compartment will be located on the off door side of the unit. The compartment will be equipped with locks for secure storage.

OUTSIDE STORAGE:

Outside storage will be accessible from the off door side, rear and the curb side of the unit to the basement storage. A light will be located in the compartment. The doors will be equipped with locks.

110 VOLT POWER:

110 volt power will be provided through a standard 30 amp RV plug on a 25' cord

circuit breakers are provided in the distribution panel located in the control room. All wall outlets are 110 volt with ground fault protection near the sink and for outside outlets.

12 VOLT POWER:

12 volt power will be provided by a frame mounted deep cycle (Interstate Battery) or through a 55 amp solid state power converter mfg by Elixir or equal. This unit will handle all of the 12 volt power demand by converting 110 volt AC power to 12 volt DC power. The power converter has a built in, self regulating, battery charger. This charger will maintain a full operational charge of the frame mounted battery automatically.

BATTERY CUT OFF

A switch is provided to shut the battery down for storage. This eliminates a dead battery from accidentally leaving on a light during storage. Your battery will be charged and ready to go.

BACK UP BEEPER

A audible tone will be heard at the rear of the safety house warning any one in the area that the unit is moving in reverse. (The tow vehicle must be properly wired to activate this alarm)

HEATING AND COOLING:

Central air conditioning is provided. Heat is provided by a forced air furnace rated at 35,000 btu. Heat will be distributed evenly through out the unit by use of heat ducts. Air conditioning is central ducted and is rated at 13,500 btu. A centrally located thermostat will allow consistent temperatures to be maintained.

ELECTRIC HEATED DOOR:

A heated door shall be in place for a hands on demonstration of how to check for a hot door. The electric hot door is to be fully adjustable, with temperature limit switch

protection.

AWNING

A 21 ft awning is provided on the road side of the unit covering the door.

SMOKE GENERATOR :

A smoke machine shall be provided, with a gal. of non-toxic, water base smoke fluid.

911 TELEPHONE

A 911 training phone shall be in place, The system shall allow hands on training in the proper use of the 911 system. The student will be able to talk with the unseen control room operator. Also the system shall have the ability for call back from control room to student. A outside telephone jack will be installed on the door side of the unit. TV CABINET: A TV cabinet and slide-out shelf is provided on the awning side of the unit. A slide out shelf will be in place. This allows the tv position to be adjusted to accommodate changing light conditions
